Swamp Meadow Community Theatre is proud to be producing a new adaptation of Kimberly Newton Fusco’s young adult novel, Tending to Grace. Auditions are August 11, 6-9 pm and August 12, 2-5 pm, with callbacks August 14, 6-9 pm, at the Eddy Building in Foster.
We are looking for actors who can explore the range emotions found in this dramatic play. Ages 8 to adult are needed. If you are interested in auditioning, it is recommended that you read the novel to get a good understanding of the characters.
Rehearsals will be on Tuesday and Thursday evening. Show dates are November 10 to 18.

Cornelia – sensitive, withdrawn girl, 14 yrs. old, has had a tough life with her mom and boyfriend, people think she’s a dimwit because she stutters, but she’s very bright (435 lines)
Teacher – woman or man, any age (1 line)
Allison – 14 yr. old girl, Cornelia’s classmate (3 lines)
Sam – 14 yr. old boy, Cornelia’s classmate (4 lines)
Betsy – 14 yr. old girl, Cornelia’s classmate (4 lines)
Lenore – fragile woman in her 30’s, smokes & drinks, Cornelia’s mom, can’t take care of her daughter (30 lines)
Joe – irresponsible, selfish man in his 30’s, Lenore’s boyfriend, doesn’t understand or like Cornelia (11 lines)
Agatha -Cornelia’s strong, eccentric great aunt, in her 50’s, who takes Cornelia in (330 lines)
Moss – a man in his 40’s or 50’s, knows Agatha (14 lines)
Warm Milk (librarian) – a soft, kind woman, any age (19 lines)
